This workshop will focus on overdose education and naloxone distribution for community members, by providing attendees with the knowledge and skills to train others in overdose response. Training on the signs and symptoms of overdose and use of naloxone has been shown to be effective at empowering community members to respond to an opioid overdose and ultimately, reducing deaths related to opioid overdose in communities.
- Explain how to conduct comprehensive 10-15 minute trainings using a standardized curriculum
- Review processes for dispensing naloxone directly to trainees
- Discuss lessons learned from their implementation of different training models in other states
