Training Description
The Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) is a planning model for creating community change, and it is an integral part of substance abuse prevention services in Iowa. This training will focus on the implementation and evaluation steps and will build on attendee's knowledge of utilizing the SPF for community prevention. Participants will increase their skills in building stakeholder capacity for implementing evidence based practices and programs, identifying process measures and ensuring their ideas and strategies are being implemented as intended, and identifying how they will measure success.
Participants will walk away with increased knowledge, tools and templates for applying the implementation and evaluation steps of the SPF in their communities.

Pre-Training- Implementation and Evaluation: Essential Steps to Community Change Using SPF Training

Pre-Training Description: This optional 1.5 hour pre-training will give an overview of all 5 steps of the Strategic Prevention Framework and how they work to create culturally competent, sustainable community change. Specific focus will be placed on the implementation and evaluation steps.

*It is recommended that anyone who does not have a comfortable foundation in working with the SPF (and all of its related terms and acronyms) attend the pre-training that will happen immediately before this training. The pre-training may also be a great refresher for those already in the field, or for community coalition members.
