Conference Objectives
• Identify strategies to improve immunization rates and parental compliance
• Review and discuss the General Recommendations on Immunization
• Review and incorporate the adolescent immunization schedule in clinical practice
• Describe current recommendations on child and adolescent vaccination schedule, vaccine spacing intervals, and precautions
• Identify strategies for discussing vaccines with parents and the role that media plays in public perception of immunizations
• Describe the importance of the hepatitis B vaccine in birth hospitals
Who Should Attend
The conference is designed to be of interest to a diverse field of health care professionals, including: nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, medical assistants, public health staff, physicians, physician assistants, medical and nursing students, and anyone interested in learning more about immunizations.
Registration
Conference registration is $40, which includes materials, continental breakfast and lunch. The registration deadline is June 3, 2009. Space is limited to 800 participants.

Continuing Education
Nurses will be granted .63 nursing CEUs by The Department of Human Services provider #94 approved by the Iowa Board of Nursing.
CMA (AAMA) CEUs will be available. CMA CEUs for non AAMA’s will be $5.00.

Individuals are responsible for making their own reservations at their own expense and must call by May 20, 2009, to receive the conference rate of $50.00 plus tax. The hotel offers free parking and complimentary shuttle service to Hy-Vee Hall.

Individuals are responsible for making their own reservations at their own expense and must call by May 10, 2009, to receive the conference rate of $59.95 plus tax. If you are a state employee, please show your state ID to receive the state rate. The Hotel offers: free parking, free hot breakfast and is located 1 block from Hy-Vee Hall.
