Recovery Month - September, 2010
Iowa Celebrates the 21st Annual National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month with Adventure!
On September 18, 2010, Adventureland Amusement Park in Altoona will be the site for this year’s statewide Recovery Month event that celebrates the benefits of substance abuse treatment, salutes the work of treatment providers, and promotes the message of recovery from substance abuse and addiction.
Recovering persons, including Access to Recovery (ATR) participants, and their immediate families can enjoy a fun day of rides, shows and attractions -- with a special presentation at 3:00 p.m. by notable guests. In addition, Recovery Month participants will receive a free t-shirt while supplies last.
TICKET INFORMATION
Recovering Persons: A limited number of free tickets are available for individuals in recovery and for their spouses and children or, if age 18 or younger, for their parents. To request tickets, interested licensed treatment programs must fax the attached Ticket Request Form to Training Resources at (515) 309-3317 by August 20, 2010. The free tickets will be divided among interested programs. Once the free tickets are distributed, programs may purchase additional tickets at the special discounted rate of $12.72. (See Ticket Request Form in box to the right.)
Access to Recovery Participants: Active ATR clients with available funding may purchase tickets for themselves and their spouses and children through their ATR Care Coordination provider. (Clients age 18 and younger may also purchase tickets for their parents.) ATR tickets are available at the special discounted rate of $12.72. To purchase tickets, ATR Care Coordination providers must fax the attached Ticket Order Form to Training Resources at (515) 309-3317 by August 20, 2010. In addition, Care Coordination providers must enter a Sober Living Activities encounter in the Voucher Management System upon distribution of tickets to clients. Tickets must be secured in advance of the event so plan ahead!
Discounted tickets will not be available at Adventureland on September 18.
