DOA: Drugs of Abuse Today

This program is designed to provide up-to-date information of the dangers and clinical effects associated with contemporary drugs of abuse. Substances include alcohol, marijuana, inhalants, cocaine, methamphetamine, hallucinogens and commonly abused Rx and OTC drugs including opioids (narcotic painkillers), depressants (sleeping pills or anti-anxiety drugs), stimulants (ADHD drugs) and dextromethorphan (cough medicine). Lesser-known drugs of abuse such as salvia divinorum, khat and kratom will also be covered. Abuse patterns, range of toxicity, clinical effects, and overdose management will be discussed.

Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety

The curriculum was developed by the Department of Defense Patient Safety Program in collaboration with the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research (AHRQ). TeamSTEPPSTM is based on over 20 years of research and lessons learned from evidence-based, field-tested approaches to produce highly effective teams.
TeamSTEPPSTM Master Trainer Training is an interactive workshop which prepares participants to facilitate a TeamSTEPPSTM initiative within their organization. Training and coaching skills are developed through didactic, interactive and teach back exercises.
